I live in a small town called Robert, Louisiana and in 2016 the Tangipahoa River flooded. Went from 7 ft to 26 ft. I live about 2 miles from the river and my yard alone got up to 4.5 ft. My son was literally swimming in our yard (he was 16 at the time). We took on about a foot and a half in our house. I know this cause we stayed. That was probably the worst feeling, watching that water come up and inside and you can't stop it
